Shannon A. McGuire is an associate in the firm’s Freehold and Vineland offices and works on a variety of immigration matters including employment-based and family-based immigration. Shannon represents a diverse group of clients in the areas of permanent residence, naturalization, fraud and unlawful waivers, J-1 visa waiver / CONRAD-30 programs, removal defense, and immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applications. She appears regularly at interviews before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and hearings before the United States Immigration Court. Shannon also handles petitions filed with the Board of Immigration Appeals, Federal Courts, and Administrative Appeals Office.

Prior to joining Hartington King English, LLC, Shannon worked as a bankruptcy and restructuring litigation associate with an Am Law 200 firm in Philadelphia. In addition to representing corporate clients, Shannon maintained an active pro bono case load litigating asylum cases in Immigration Court and representing unaccompanied minors seeking U.S. residency. Shannon also taught, advised, and mentored law students at Temple University Beasley School of Law as co-instructor of the Temple Law Asylum Project. As a law student, she also earned a certificate in Human Rights and Transitional Justice from Rosario University in Bogota, Colombia.

Prior to attending law school, Shannon taught English through the Spanish Department of Education in several schools throughout Spain and worked for a bilingual training program for teachers in the Peruvian Amazon. She attributes her time volunteering with refugees in Lesvos, Greece as solidifying her desire to become an immigration attorney. During law school, Shannon was the Immigration and Human Rights Committee Chair of the National Lawyers Guild and the Spanish for Lawyers Chair of the Latin American Law Student Association.
